Co Coach: Hello my name is Destiny
I have been with CLS since the beginning and I have played volleyball for many years in both middle school and high school. I have coached middle school for two years and JV for one. I love to play and coach volleyball and to see the girls learn new things. I have a beautiful little girl and a wonderful fiance' who supports me in everything. I love Jesus and I love to share my faith with the girls throughout the seasons of volleyball. I like to have fun but also like to be serious when coaching. I just enjoy playing and I hope to keep growing with Legacy throughout the years and many seasons to come.
Co Coach: Hi my name is Grace Andrews, I was born in Georgia but have been a Colorado girl for the past ten years. My volleyball journey began in 5th grade playing for Colorado Springs Christian School. I continued to play with CSCS until the end of my freshman year in high school. After choosing to be homeschooled, I was blessed to continue my high school volleyball with Colorado Legacy Sports in their spring intramural league, competitive girls’ FRCAA league, and the Co-Ed FRCAA league. I was part of a total of five championship teams with CLS and a three-time All Star. For the past two years I have coached middle school and JV for CLS. I have enjoyed the opportunity to not only pass on technical skills that I learned, but also to be a positive influence for the players through encouragement and leadership so that they continue to love the game of volleyball.
Head Coach: My name is Kacy Tyson and I have played volleyball for seven years and coached for four seasons. I am currently a General Studies major at PPCC and plan to transfer to GCU in the fall where I plan to be a Physical Education major. I come from a family of 9 children and 2 amazing parents who have been married for 35 years. In my free time I enjoy any and all sport related activities, hanging out with friends, deep conversations, and creating music. I look forward to becoming involved with Legacy and getting to share the knowledge I have learned over the last several years. My spiritual life is very serious to me and I look forward to learning and growing more in my relationship with the Father through the many new friendships and growth opportunities that a community like Legacy provides.
Head Coach: my name is Lydia Horner, I'm originally from Oklahoma. I've been Colorado for almost a year. I have coached for over 10 years, and then I was assistant league director back home for a coed league, that has up to 80 teams. As a player, and as a coach, there can be many impacts in a person's life, when viewing it through Christ eyes. 1Cor10:31 has been my life verse ever since the Lord saved me, and it has been my theme for coaching. Whatever we do, we do all to the glory of God, that's in playing volleyball, speaking to a teammate, giving it your all in practice or a game, even sitting on the bench. We all play a part to the team, we are called to do it together, in His name. I am so excited for this opportunity to coach again, I've missed it greatly!
Head Coach: Madison Abello
Assistant coach: Gary Weidman:
I (Madison) will be head coaching this Spring season. And I (Gary) will be taking on the role as assistant coach, and leading strength and conditioning. We’re so excited that we get to bring our love for God and people into the arena of sports!
I (Madison) grew up “testing the waters” in multiple sports, but once I tried volleyball my freshman year, it was game over. I’ve been in love with the sport ever since and have only grown more and more of a passion for it.
I (Gary) grew up playing a number of competitive sports such as, baseball, football, basketball, and wrestling. Sports have always been a major centerpiece in my family, they were a fun excuse to bring everyone together.
We’re both super excited for this upcoming season! We’re honored that we not only get to coach volleyball, but that we also get to do life with the athletes! It’s going to be a really dope season!
Head Coach: My name is Shelly Stephens. I have been coaching with Legacy Sports since the beginning. I have coached middle school, JV and Varsity volleyball. I played high school volleyball and played intramural volleyball in college. I am a homeschool mom getting ready to graduate number 3 with only one more to go. I am looking forward to a fun season!
Peer Coach: Hello my name is Grace Yoder and I have been a part of Legacy sports for the past couple of seasons! I have played volleyball for 4 years and I have been so passionate and in love with the sport ever since. I am currently in my second year of club volleyball and am assistant coaching for the CLS middle school volleyball team. I am so excited to become more involved with Legacy and to be able to learn and have fun with the sport of volleyball! Legacy Sports is such an amazing program to help young athletes learn and become more confident not just in the game but in everyday life! I am so pumped to be able to share my experiences with other athletes! I cannot wait to get the season started. It's going to be a blast!
Peer Coach: My names Brent, I've been playing sports for almost 6 years now, I am a quiet competitor, a born leader, and I love challenging myself and others in any way I can. In my sports career I have played football, soccer and volleyball, with soccer being my longest played sport in which I played every position on the field. In my experience as a player I've learned that a mental pregame is just as important as the skills you need to compete, which is what I want to focus on as a coach, peer or otherwise.
Peer Coach: Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m a high school junior and have been playing volleyball with Legacy Sports for five years. I truly love nothing more... volleyball brings out the best in me! On top of volleyball, I am passionate about photography and love capturing my favorite places and people on camera. I also love painting, playing instruments, and watching movies. When I’m not busy with a hobby or doing homework, you can find me hanging out with friends (usually in a cute coffee shop). I am beyond excited to be a peer coach this season! I couldn’t ask for a better group of godly people to work with. I can’t wait for a great season!
